The joint line tenderness test evaluates for meniscus injuries. Start with the knee flexed to 90 degrees. The examiner identifies the medial and lateral joint lines adjacent to the patellar tendon, then systematically “walks” their fingers along each joint line from anterior to posterior, palpating to the most posterior aspect. The test is considered positive when palpation reproduces localized pain or tenderness along the medial or lateral joint line. Sensitivity is 83%, specificity is 83%! 🔗�
